Notice of Public Hearing – CSBG Application

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., the City of Bishopville will hold a Public Hearing at the Colclough Building, Bishopville, SC. This Public Hearing concerns an application to be submitted to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Division of Community Grants Program, on or about April 22, 2024, for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The City of Bishopville is requesting a grant of up to $1,000,000 to carry out the following activities:

The City of Bishopville proposes to replace existing outdated electrical and control systems at the WWTP to include relocation of the electrical and control equipment, provide automatic transfer of emergency power and provide updated SCADA equipment for remote monitoring.

This project, if funded, is to be carried out with Federal funds provided through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, which will be made available to the Applicant through the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Division of Community Grant Program.

This Public Hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of the City Bishopville’s Citizen Participation Plan developed in anticipation of participating in the State of South Carolina’s Community Development Block Grant Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of the City of Bishopville in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds. The Citizen Participation Plan and the Application are available for review at the City Hall, Bishopville, SC, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
